Hi folks!!!!......... welcome in my website, I want tell you about me, my name is Filippo Ricci (Pippo), I'm born in 1968 and I live in S. Giovanni Rotondo, a city on the hill in south Italy, 20 km of distance from the adriatic coast, married, my wife Grazia she's kind very comprehensive and with 3 children of which 2 females and 1 male, Pia, Marina and Giovanni which are all of my reason for life.
My job or occupation it is in Alenia Aeronautics S.p.A. constructions in composite material and carbon's fiber for aeronautical aircrafts for BOEING U.S.A., and AIRBUS I have worked on the programs B767, B777, ATR42, EFA2000, and now for the new B787 DREAMLINER and in the future with the F-35 JSF (JOINT STRIKE FIGHTER) LOCKHEED Martin, has had besides experiences in AGUSTA Elicotteri on the military program helicopters NH-90 EUROCOPTER.
I don't have other particular hobbies, except some football soccer and Formula 1, and then my great love, my personal drug, my vice..................the R A D I O!
Everything is born in 1979 when I have known the CB, to pass after few time in the frequencies pirate ssb over the 27,500 mhz with the Alfa Tango and Golf India Radio famous groups CB of the years 80, there I have had experience acquiring notions of solar propagation and operational technique, not knowing however that I was listened secretly by an local amateur radio station, which he contacted me to make a new similar but very professional world know me after few time. When I saw of what he treated I was spellbound and i keep curiosity, knew already luckily the english language to here times for which definite to become radio amateur.
I received my first special license with the call IW7CSP in 1992, operating for two years and connecting all the Italian provincies in 144 mhz, I have operated in portable IW7CSP/P winning a CONTEST LAZIO with IK7CGW/P and IK8TDT/P in 144mhz with two tonnà antennas coupled 2x13 elements stacked vertically, and operating away satellite using the RS-10/11/15s L.E.O. (low earth orbit) Sputnik satellites having a good time me. But then in June of 1994 the great footstep........ I also received the ordinary license for the HF with the call IK7YCE....... from the that time the rest is history................
As to forget every night and early morning sunrise incuding sunset spent to try to connect this or that country or that island, the furious pile-up, the long attended, the disappointments and the lost hours behind the radio, the rages for the idiots of turn that put the carrying one in dx window... for thing???? ....... for the dx.... infamous virus..... when it seizes yourself you are infected.... same thing for the contests that I began with a local team the Daunia Dx Team with IK7RWD and IK7FJR with the call II7I, asked alone then for IQ7V also operating for some years guesting IK7YTT, IK7LYL and IK7XNF.
I also like the awards as the DXCC, WAS, WAC, WPX, IOTA and many others in version 5 bands also, but I am lazy and annoy me to ask for them, i'm in the HONOR ROLL and 5B DXCCs, but I have not asked for anything yet, even when I retire and I will have time to devote to fill the applications for the awards, lonely award i request and i get is the DXCC MIXED, WAAC (work all africans countries) and WACS (work all caribbean sea), all others are in stand-by.
I have 336 countries DXCC and 334 confirmed, over 731 islands for the IOTA, all the American states confirmed. In the list DXCC I need ZS8(MARION) and KP1(NAVASSA).
Anyhow, I would to thank so much all in past belived in me and helped to get where I’m now, including all big guns on the air I heard as W3LPL, N7DD, WB6LZV, W3PP, K4JA, W3BGN, OH2BH, OH1XX, CT1EEB, CT1FMX, VK3EW, VK9NS (rip sk), JE1LET, ZS6EZ, G3MTL (rip sk), PT7BZ, DL5NAM, F5NOD, EA4DX, EA5BYP, SV8CS, UA4CC, VU2PAI, VE1AT, ON4AXU, HB9CXZ, the Italians OM I2MQP, I7CSB, I7DS (rip sk), I7RIZ (rip sk), I7ALE, IK7XLU, IK7NXM, IK7MCJ, IK8OZZ, IK8HCG, IK4GRO....and many many others, is not enough one entire web site list to sign theirs.....all this people thanks again, but in specially one big thanks to who introducing me in this fantastic world...Frank IK7CGW.
